92 SVX Electrical short

Okay here's my issue, I have a 1992 pearl white svx. Occasionally when turning left or right the car would shut off, I would just put the car quickly in neutral and start it back up with no problem. Till one day driving home all the dash lights started flashing and then the car immediately died, with no power to anything in the interior. Luckily I was able to pull off the road . All windows were stuck down no power anywhere. I have finally got the Windows back up and the spot interior lights working but there is a major short somewhere. Here's a rundown of what's going on now.

1. Interior fuse box fuse number 6 front wiper, instantly blows the fuse as soon as you put it in. Kind of scary.
2. No interior dome light and no rear brake lights or anything in the rear.
3. No power steering.....argh!
4. The shift lock is having issues as I have to put the car in neutral or possibly even drive to get it to start. This could be at different issue entirely.

I have replaced the alternator and all the wiring which crosses over the hot engine thinking that might be a short or power drain, but that has not fixed the problem. Battery is good and most of the wiring harnesses I have checked out with no visible shorts or kinks in the wiring harnesses. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I love this car and want to drive it again soon.

Re: 92 SVX Electrical short

remove your visors, they have a little wire in them that lights them up, and it is prone to crack and ground out of the roof, not sure it'd cause "All" your issues, but it is a know problem area, so worth checking out.
