Replacing stereo

I am trying to replace my old stereo in the SVX, but its hard to find a radio wiring harness that fit. I have looked into the "How to" documents but its not similar with the european SVX. My original stereo is with the cd player in the back, for 12 discs. There are three plugs, does anyone have the wiring diagram for this?

Re: Replacing stereo

Hello Karl-Ivar,
Yes, SVXs in Europe use Subaru's older style of radio harness (which consists of two plugs). The third plug (with 2 pins) is for illumination on an in-dash CD player unit. Picture:

Pin-out is here: http://www.surrealmirage.com/vrg3/bcstereo/ (factory wire colors shown there are different than on European SVX).

I have the correct installation harness for that:

Pictures of the European SVX radio "cage" and pin-out table with SVX factory wire colors are in this thread:

ADDED: If the third plug you are asking about looks like this...

...that connects to the CD changer in the trunk.

Re: Replacing stereo

Thanks!! This is what I needed. The third plug is correctly the one you are showing.

Re: Replacing stereo

When installing a double DIN unit with all the gadgets (nav, rear camera a.o.)I need some advice for following wiring:
Reverse signal (reverse light?)
ACC-signal (1st turn of ignition key)
Parking brake (allowing TV and DVD-playing)

Is the rear window a good place for the TV-antenna?

I plan to power the reverse camera at the reverse light, will that be OK?

I don't know yet, but I hope powering up the camera will switch the unit to rear vision - otherwise I need the reverse signal. Seems logical, but I don't know about these chinese minds.

Btw. we are talking about an european LHD-version.

Yes, you can tap the wire near the reverse bulbs. That signal should also go into the dash, but I don't know where you can find it.

+12V ACC is on your 7-pin radio harness. See the link in my previous post (where I say "Pin-out is here").

You should be able to find that signal on the parking brake switch (on the hand brake lever).

Possibly. It depends on the antenna (size, shape, etc.).

Yes, that's OK to supply power to the camera itself.

The HU also will have a wire you need to connect to the reverse gear signal. This tells the HU to display the camera image.
