Not exactly a moot point and I'm not trying to be argumentative in the least. Quite possibly the moisture comes from the gasket not sealing it tight to the body, itself becoming saturated and since being close to the bulb in the first place.... you get the pic. Those that have correctly sealed the gasket area have eliminated their problem as have those that have drilled holes for the accumulated moisture to drain. The drain holes have added benefit of allowing some 'breathing' to occur, I hazard to guess. Whatever works, YMMV. Personally I'd shoot for sealing it tighter to the body and to heck with the suppositions.
