Re: Wow what a car !!!!

For those of you who keep the car in the garage all winter, do you perform any special pre-start procedures before first crank? For example, manually turning over the engine to lube up the internals. After a months of sitting, all the oil must be at the bottom of the engine and the idea of that first start just makes me cringe.

I also keep my car in the garage all winter and make an effort to start it and let it idle in the driveway on decent days to try to keep those 'dry-starts' to a minimum.

Re: Wow what a car !!!!

The plan was to have it crank. Unfortunately it did not I shut it down after a few seconds and let it rest. Restarted. Oil pressure came up instantly. Fig all thirs new cars in the dealer lots. Sit months with 4 miles on them. They don't prep them. At the Subaru factory. It comes off the production line onto a dyno and revd to 5,000 RPM. I saw it with my own eyes.

Re: Wow what a car !!!!

.
Whenever my SVX has been sitting for a while, 6-9 months, I just disconnect the igniter back on the firewall and crank it for about 20 seconds to manually move the oil without starting ( the oil light actually goes out) Then plug it back in and it fires right up.

Stays connected to the Battery Tender when not driven.
