Not much to say...

My condolences to his family. I didnt know him, but to have someone from our on-line family go in such a lousy way still hurts. Prayers from my family to his.

Loss

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Let's be very careful traveling this weekend, and switch drivers or pull over for a short time if we get too tired.

Arrive alive... Don and Jean

my condolences to the family and friends
B u t---
Driving under any kind of influence is a very B A D thing..
Hopefully he is at rest but his friends and family are grieving an unnecessary loss...
not to sound like an a-hole but "thankfully" an innocent bystander wasn't injured (or worse even--killed)...
RIP and god bless none the less---Squiggy

My condolences as well. It's hard to imagine what his family is going through....

This is the first case I have heard of someone not surviving a crash w/ the SVX, but I figured such a tragedy would hit us someday, unfortunately...

Like the man says...let's be careful out there..........

Darn it

Best wishes and my prayers to the friends and family of Chris Pape. Too weird for me saying this. My name is Chris and I am an EMT too. Yikes.

He will be remembered here

Condolences

to all who know Chris. He is a couple of years younger than my eldest son, way too young to go out in such an ignominious fashion.

Deepest sympathy to his mother, sister and family. Having lost my first wife in a road accident, I know the pain and shock they must feel.

Could all you guys and girls drive careful to the meet?? Chris is the first I have heard to die in an SVX, if we are all real careful he COULD be the only one ever, that would tie well with his mother's wishes.

Joe

Very sad

I am very new to this board, but still saddened to hear of this untimely passing. The prayers and support expressed say so much about the caliber and spirit of the membership. People are here for reasons beyond a mere car... That's what makes this site so special and that's what will endure. Safe driving.

Godspeed,

Rev. Bill Keane

I came back from Chris's funeral this morning. The funeral was so nice and the get together afterwards was wonderful. His family had 22 ballons for how old chris was and everytime someone told a story about chris they got a ballon and could release it into the sky. It was hard seeing all our friends together without chris. I talked to his mom and she is doing ok. She told me again how much chris loved his car and how he always talked about our cars to her. She told me that chris always use to tell her that "it is all about the svx."

Then my friends took me to see the car. All i have to say is oh my god. i dont think one of us here would have recognized it if someone didnt say it was an svx. His mom said that chris would have wanted me to have anything on the car that was salvagable. Which wasnt much. My friends got the two back wheels and some decals. He had just bought two new tires two weeks ago. Other than that there was nothing else on the car. It was completely totaled. My friends managed to get some decals of to bury him with. It is the worst car that I have ever seen. They cut the top of the car off with the jaws of life and the top of the car was sitting next to the car itself when i looked at it. The car made me sick to my stomach and added to my sleepless nights. All that i hope is that chris didnt feel anything.

Sorry to continue this post, I know chris wouldnt want anyone morning over his death but rather celebrate the time we had with him.

Everyone stay safe
Jerad

Thank you

for sharing your friend's farewell with us Jerad. Nice to know Chris's mom is holding up well, and don't forget that for quite a while to come, you and your friends might be a welcome piece of his life she can still share. So call to say Hello if you can, as often as you can.

Take care of yourself too, my friend, the condition of Chris's car is a lesson to us all to drive sensibly. All of our friends and family need to see us come home safe.

You and your friends will be in my prayers this weekend.

Vaya con Dios.

Joe

Jerad,
my condolences to you, Chris' family and friends.

Jeff Scorse told me the news last week and i was deeply saddened that such a young kid with such promise and a long life ahead of him, had his life cut short in such a horrible accident.
my prayers are with you all.

Drive safe!.

Kathy
