I think my svx is beyond fixing.

[venting]
I went to go pick up my girlfriend at work today, the car overheated, after an hour of starting, going, cooling off, starting, going, cooling off (to go 3 miles) I finally got to water, the rad was bone dry.

I filled it, overheated within 2 minutes, got home, rad was dry again. steam issuing from the tailpipes, and steam billowing out of the the head gaskets on both sides, major head gasket rupture, both sides. big leaks, when i filled the rad again, a stream of water shot out from underneath the intake plenum.

When my girlfriend got out of the car, THE MOTH%&^^&* body panel fell off under her door. Then the engine siezed.

So,

I need.

A new engine.
duty sol. A replaced,
a new tranny resistor,
a new center console
a new drivers side visor
new hood struts
a new paint job
new ps lines, possibly pump
new o2 sensors
new trunk struts
the leather seats re dyed
the nubuck replaced - everywhere
a new right front turn signal assy
a new grill
new carpet
a new stereo
a new trim ring around the speedo
new power antenna
body work on the hood, and rear pass fender.
new exaust hangers
new suspension bushings....

....

This car is scrap, I am sick of looking at it.

[/venting]

Sorry for all the misfortune I hate to see you give up tho, do you have a local scrap yard you can pull an engine from? All the rest sounds like small crap. Are you sure it siezed and are you sure it was spewing from the head gaskets? That just seems odd. I hope you have better luck soon.

I agree with Tom. Walk away for a few days and then come back and evaluate. Sorry to hear about the problem.

So it isn't that bad, after all.

head gasket on drivers side fried. water output manifold (for lack of a better word) has a ruptured gasket.

All that hot steam did a number on the electricals under the intake plenum, and the vacum hoses, and at least one vacuum regulator is fried.

I'll rebuild the heads while I have them off. I'll probably make some sort of cam upgrade as well, and port/polish the intake.
s
I'm still mad, but I can't scrap a straight, rust free svx and feel good about it. There simply aren't enough left.

Alright, so I finally cooled off.

4 months later.

I just picked up a running parts car if pristine shape (except for the trunk area, rear ended - beyond reasonable restoration)

So the car will be once again be in great shape.

ohh, and the rest of the parts are for sale in the classified section
