The "Manual" switch is for slippery conditions. If you're on ice or snow, press the manual switch. It'll allow you to take off in second gear, to prevent too much torque to the wheels, causing slippage on take-off.

The Sport/Econ switch is a manual way of going into "power" mode. On US spec cars, the car automatically runs in (what you know as) "ECON" mode. On US spec cars, when you punch the throttle, and the "Power" light comes on, it automacally goes into what you know as "Sport" mode, remapping the transmission shift points to hit at redline.

I kinda wish we had the switch, so that we could shift into "Power" or "Sport" mode, any time we wanted.
