What is considered low mileage?

I have a 92 SVX w/93,000 on the odom.

I am curious to know what is considered low mileage.

It sems like I see a lot of 92's w/ 70-95,000 miles.

sorry, i couldn't resist. but seriously, i consider anything less 10k miles per year to be low. my 3.5 month old hyundai has 8000 miles on it.

If I hear of a SVX with anything under 50,000 to 60,000, I would definatelly consider that low mileage.

13 years old with 122k miles... thats less than 10k a year.... who drives 10g a year? Hell I put close to 2 grand a month on a car...


50-60 is like SUPER low miles for something that old.

Good sounding engine under 100,000 on any Subaru is good low mileage...We actualy have people put mileage of a car ( Subaru or Honda ) for sale if it is under 140,000.

I'd say anything below 60K miles would be "low mileage" for an SVX. At 100K miles, its time for major engine maintenance (timing belt, water pump, thermostat, front engine seals, vacuum hoses, power steering pump rebuild, maybe EGR system, PCV valve). The struts will also be in need of replacement by 100K miles. The tranny will be close to end-of-life unless it was very well maintained and driven conservatively. Chances are the rear wheel bearings will be ready to go bad if they haven't already. And there could other problems such as poor brakes, flakey car alarm, scratches on drive/passenger window from worn felt, ...

Good thing most of that was already done.. but those scratches are beginning to appear... god i can only imagine the cost to fix that and new glass.

I only have 74,000 miles on my 92 because my baby sat for 4 years. When I pulled it out of the garage from the last owner the tires were square. Changed the fluids and then drove 1600Miles home. The tires did round out after 30 mins or so. I replaced them when I got home and did the timming belt. She is making up for it now thou. It begs to be driven.

My car is averaging 7539 miles a year.

You can take the felt things out and replace them or clean them up to prevent them from doing anymore scratching.
