My New Car and my Dented Door

I'm too lazy to bother getting image hosting.

Those of you out there who are at least partially familiar with me know that

And my door from when the Explorer backed into me:

He claimed he just couldn't see the low-slung SVX

Nice looking Audi TT!!! The look of those cars is amazing and those wheels really set it off...

Sorry to hear about the dent in your door. Honestly, don't be surprised if your insurance company totals the car. Since your svx is a '92, a door damaged like that would cost more than the book value of your car to fix...

Can it be that bad?

Nice TT. How would you like it compare to the ride, handling, performance with the svx? Your reviews?

The TT is TOTALLY different than the SVX- there are some things I like and some I really don't-

TT:
It handles a little better, in a forced corner, it'll grip the pavement and dive in where the SVX would start fading. It brakes a lot faster, gets up and goes faster, more features, but I also miss the AWD (I chose a non-quattro as the quattro really doesn't respond as well) and I'm a little more afraid to drive it. That and it is a lot smaller than the SVX, and it handles differently. I was so used to everything the SVX had...

That and you can't get anything done in the backseat until you fold them down and bust open the hatch anyway

Beyond that though, I really do love the car, but my dad is stealing the SVX and I'll certainly miss it a lot.

There is a lot to say about the differences, but I'll just settle to say that I love them both- The SVX is my baby- the TT is my mistress

Overall review:

A sports car bent more toward the luxury side- much like the SVX- I love the thing and it's 5-speed goodness

I'd recommend one to anyone.

Gorgeous TT! I love that shade of blue. Funny, I've really been into TTs lately and here you are posting about your new one.

one of my college buddies had a 2001 denim blue TT. he had the 225hp quattro and it came with a 6-speed. he complained about the visibility and he found it to be highly impractical and traded it in after only a year and a half. paid 39k for it and only got 26k in trade. i hope you got a good deal on yours.

I was expecting more damage than that to your door. I had an early 90's Cavalier back into my door and cause more damage than that.

Good luck with the repairs.
