Angry stupid gas tank won't come out

my lovely '93 svx that i recently purchased has a gas leak
the leak is the the lines above the tank
so i tried to lower the tank
i followed the directions and took everything off, it's supposed to just come right out
it won't
it's wedged on the bottom on the frame and on the top on the floor panel

i have attached a picture of how it is sitting on the frame, i will post other pictures soon

any body help me out?

(i'm also looking to purchase a repair manual or a shop manual, and sources for that would be appreciated as well)

Question Question...

...when you bought the car, did it have a clean carfax history, or was it ever involved in some kind of collision?

If it ever was in an accident, the frame of the car might be bent slightly, causing the gas tank to be wedged into the frame like that.

Just my $0.02...

it's not a collision problem, it only gets wedged when i try and pull it out

i havn't even heard of someone who has done this, taken it out

as far as i can tell its an engineering problem

Sorry I can't scan the service manual - my light bulb blew in my scanner - I'll try a digital pic of it and see if it's legible.

I'm searching on my Mitchell CD and I can't seem to find it...

No amount of tipping it forward and back will get it out? (I'm sure you have tried this) Does it feel like it is hanging on a wire or anything? Could the lines be in the way?

Try pulling the front down as you push it forward. Do you have someone else to help you?

Might be irrelevant but is the car on ramps or jackstands. Mabey the body is flexing somehow? May be worth looking into.
