Good looking SVX

This is one of the few SVX's I've seen that have cool rims on it. For some reason, most people that have put rims on their SVX have had horrible taste when it came to pick out new rims.

SVXtc,

Sorry. I don't care for then. I like curved spokes as on the stock rims. I would also like to see a set of wire wheels on the SVX similar to those that came on the old Jag XKE. Beauty must be in the eye of the beholder.

I agree, I haven't seen many SVXes with rims I like either. But that goes for this picture too, just not my style I guess. If I ever got the money to spend on something like that, I would look hard and long for something close to the ones on the "one off". Anyone have any idea what those are? If not those, at least something 5 spoke, maybe 6 (Leo, I really like yours too).

I agree, those look nice.

The SVX may be a beautiful car, but its beauty lies in the smooth, uninterrupted lines. It is not a 'busy' car like the current and previous gen Eclipses, for example. For that reason I think 'busy' wheels don't fit the car well.

It's entirely subjective, though. Pontiac has even sold a few Azteks...go figure...

Check out Dayton wire wheels at http://daytonwheel.com They restored the wire wheels on my TR6 and also manufactured a wire wheel to match the Kelsey-Hayes wire wheel on my 63 Thunderbird. They make wire wheels for new cars in either bolt-on or authentic knock-off designs. Im sure they could match our offset perfectly.

They do truly outstanding work. The spokes on my TR6 were painted to match the factory ones and the Kelsey-Hayes repro wheels were chrome plating over stainless steel.

one-off rims

I just ordered 17" wheels that look very close to the ones on the one-off picture along with some yoko avs sports. I found a 1 inch long crack in one of my front rims and figured it was a sign. I'll post pics of how they look on the car when I get them. They are TRMotorsports Typhoons from tirerack.com

I like mine clean without too many curves. If I can get rid of all the spokes and have the SVX float, even better. But so far, I have not seen anything like that yet

Just for yucks, I'd love to show up a meet with 4 donut spares on. No argument about spoke direction, low roll resistance for good gas mileage & very easy to clean!
Ron.

Spokes folks

Actually, I've been looking at some seven-spoke wheels myself. (looking, not buying. The money press in the basement is out of whack) They are MAS Roger wheels, which have wide spokes; I would compare them to the spokes on classic Bugatti's, only fewer in number.
I take copies of wheel ads, cut them out, and stand next to the SVX and adjust my angle until they seem to fill the space of the real wheels. It gives me a good feeling for how they would really look...

Then I whine about lack of funds.... Don

Actually they are not my fav, and they are very very heavy, but hey I liked 'em and they are different, like the car..

To each their own

Is your car FWD? If not, you're just asking for a new tranny.
