I test drove a SVX FWD a few days ago.

123k miles.

Red.

For the condition it wasn't that bad.

I think he was asking $5k~ for it.

No leaks

Tranny shifted smoothly.

I love the climate control. Very simple and intuitive.

The side windows was easy to get used to it.

BUT, the disappointment I had with it was the rare seats are not designed for an adult to sit back there without their head touching the ceiling/rear glass.

Is there a seat mod that allows me to lower it?

Kinda blows.

Now I might have to reconsider the Typhoon.......

I really don't think anything can be done. I removed my rear seat cushion a few weekends ago when I was doing some cleaning, and it sits right on top of the metal frame.

How often would you need to take passengers in the back? I'm 6' 2" and it is a bit of a cramp for me, but my 5' 8" and shorter friends are ok back there...

I rarely have people in the back of my car but when I do they do comment about the head room but never complain.

How often would you need to carry people in the back? How tall are your friends?

Well, I like to be "prepared" for passengers.

They all vary in height.

i have a hard time believing an rx7 has more rear headroom than an svx.

You can't be serious about the rear seats in a 2+2. Find another 2+2 that has better rear seat headroom b/c I'm quite sure you won't. Not a Jag, Not a 633CSI, Not a Mercedes, Not a DSM, Not a Pony, Not a 300z Not a Honda or Toyota. Get my point. Actually I was able to crawl into the back seat and fit somewhat comfortable even with a huge cast on my ankle when I bought my car. Had barely enough headroom with a slight tilt but at least my head wasn't completely sideways like it would be in all the vehicles listed above. Try the others you'll be suprised how good the SVX design is for a usable rear seat.

I've found the rear seat to be perfectly fine for small children and "normal" sized adults on short trips. I wouldn't even think about trying to shoehorn in either one of my brothers (6'3" and 6'5"). Have you tried moving the front seats forward and sliding yourself down in the rear seat a bit?

no, but it's a strange observation to make considering you the car you drive. but if that's your biggest gripe about the svx, i'd say get one.
