Autozone has our struts
Just wanted to let everyone know that autozone had a listing for the struts, front ant rear. It was around 136 for the front and 144 for the rears. The manager said it had a lifetime warranty and it was gabriel something. The part name given was Ultra and 3 numbers. I also saw a listing at strauss.

I think they've had that listing for some time, at least they had it some months ago when I was going to change mine.
What caused me to not go that route is that Subaruparts.com has the fronts and rears for less than $100 each and the OEM strut is made by Showa. My personal opinion is that I would rather run Showa than Gabriel even if the prices were reversed. of course YMMV |

Interesting. Gabriel used to make a heck of a good shock - years ago. I didn't know they were still in business.

Gabriel shocks stink. I sold them at the local after market parts store for years. They rusted out quickly and everyone complained about the ride. The OEM's aren't that much more than a lot of the aftermarket ones, and they are much better (in fact at our store the Gabriel shocks for the SVX cost MORE than the OEM's!)

Has anyone put these on their SVX?

Unless you want the 'rock-hard' Koni's (along with the hassles of swapping 'inserts'), go with the OEM's.
I'd go with KYB's, (I've had several sets on various Subaru's and others,) but KYB doesn't make a set for the SVX............ -Mark |
