Lots o' New Members
Again, we seem to have had a membership rush. Those to whom I haven't had the chance to welcome individually, WELCOME. Make yourselves at home. You're now members of one of the most unique groups of automobile enthusiasts anywhere. It's easy to be a Ferrari Enthusiast, a DeLorean enthusiast --- Exotic enthusiast --- Muscle Car enthusiast -- F-Body enthusiast ---- But it takes real Ba77s to be an SVX enthusiast -- it's seemingly the "Bastard Stepchild" of the Automotive world -- The "Edsel" of Japanese cars --------- But we know what it's all about, don't we? Welcome, one and all, and thank you for being a part of this great family.

You know.. for what its worth... NO ONE has ever not liked the look of the SVX that i have come across. Many have commented on the odd design of the windows. But NONE have said "Uh dude that POS IS UGLY!!!"

Anyway, the styling really is love-it-or-hate it. Most who hate it think the split windows will hinder visibility, which is of course opposite of the actual effect. I don't really care. I love the car. Whether or not it's worth anything to somebody else isn't the point for me. BTW over two years my car has lost only $1000 in retail value, according to Kelley Blue Book.

In a previous life, I was a Spitfire pilot. (the PLANE Randy, the plane) Got waxed by a 109 over the Channel....anyway, I have this inner-longing for a fighter cockpit. The SVX's split windows remind me of a stylized version of the canopy of a P-38.....

Don,
Great site, As a kid & teen I built and flew control line models ( I could not afford RC). You think that the SVX would have been a Cosair. I think Mesquito, or Stuka (don't limit yourself to US planes). Larry III |

The Corsair was an awesome aircraft...the "Whistling Death" the Japanese called it.
There were so many excellent aircraft produced during the War. The Mustang, Thunderbolt, Lightning, Hellcat...and no, I don't limit myself to just American aircraft. My all-time favorite is the Spitfire....remind me to tell you a Spitfire story at Canaan. The German Folke-Wolf 190 and the Me262. I just have a soft spot for the British planes...the Spit, Hurricane, Typhoon, Tempest, Mosquito etc. Living in England for four years and renting a flat from a couple that told us "Battle of Britain" and Blitz stories kinda got me hooked. I've always wanted an RC plane; my brother-in-law did control line planes when he was a kid. Don

Control line planes --- ah, the memories. I had a control line helicopter --- well, I never got to play with it -- my dad bought it for "me" for Christmas when I was about 7. He was going to "teach" me how to fly it before he would turn it over to me for a solo. On the third flight, something happened and the thing went out of control. Almost took my dad's head off, and crashed into a tree and smashed into a million pieces. Next christmas, I got a control line go-cart.
