Checking In

Hi, new user checking in. I don't my SVX but, I'm saving up. By the way, if you have seen a car like the one used as my profile. I would like to know the exact type this is. It has limited edition badging and is quite nice. So if you have any info. just reply or whatever.

Limited edition badging???? What do you mean by that? The previous owner probably changed the badging to the Japanese badges. Doesn't add any value whatsoever (unless you happen to be someone who puts value on it).

All that car is in the picture as far as I can tell is a regular SVX which someone painted a stripe on and moved the wheels to the wrong side.

Best of luck finding a car Jacob.

Like More said, there never was a limited edition, unless you count the '93 cars which came in red, and were called "Anniversary" for the USA market. This one has been riced up by a previous owner.

The car is worth getting to know about. If you like the Laguna Blue, it's worth getting. They were not sold in large numbers, and it has the best chance of appreciating in value if you had a good low mileage one.

Joe

I advise to to check in here if and when you find a car you are interested in. For the most part there are members all over, and most would be happy to go with you to look at a car and give advice.

Just know what you are getting yourself in for - these cars are not cheap to maintain - repairs are expensive and wheel bearings and transmissions are weak spots in addition to all the customary repairs that vehicles this old need.

Just checking in, as asked.

Own a '92 Pearlie with about 137,000 miles on it. Have it since a few days after 9/11, and been on this site even since then. Haven't checked in for a while, though.

Car still in good shape, on loan to my daughter in Washington, D.C., since I moved to Santa Fe in July 2006. Planning to drive it out to Santa Fe in March. Fingers crossed it'll make it.

Richard

new mexico

Hi, Huck:

Good to hear from you. Where are you in New Mexico? I sited one Pearlie in Santa Fe and a guy I know told me Tuesday that he saw a blue one in Santa Fe.

I've had my Pearlier since September 2001 and have been a member of this Web site since December 2001. Came to Santa Fe from the Washington, D.C. area in July. Loving it. Am returning there in March to visit my daughter and pick up my SVX and drive it back out here. My daily driver is a BMW 323i convertible.

But with the snow, mud and all, I'm looking to buy a vintage Toyota Land Cruiser or FJ model -- you know, the Toyotas that were made to look like Jeeps. Do you know anybody who has one for sale?

Cheers,

Richard
