Photos of Jamsvx's SVX

I know it has taken a while but my apologies! Sorry also for the bad quality of the shots but they were taken with a disposable camera.....

they are here:

http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/user.php?Jamsvx|4347

Mine is AMN-80L - Neill's car is the other one (the 4WS) with the JDM spoiler...and when we were meeting up, we bumped into a 1995 green SVX (SVX-000) and took a photo of all 3.

I promise to get a better photo ASAP

Regards

James

Wow James, she is beautiful. I just am without words. I love that color. Can you get me the paint code, I'm going to go drop my car off at the paint shop now.

Hey James...

What's with the big "P" on the back of Neill's car?

James, nice photos. I love the car and this is the first time I've seen some clear shots of the JDM parts on the SVX. You have the same tail light as the UK SVX since the reverse and the stop lights (for us) and reverse and fog lights for you are swapped. Nice machine. Enjoy!

Another P Plater

Hey James, is there another one of us P Platers with a SVX. Sweet!!. What year is it?

For people who dont know what the "P" plate on the back of the other SVX means. First you get your "L" plates, which restricts you to driving with a full licenced driver. Once you turn 17 you can do a test and get your P plates, which allows you to drive by yourself. But restricts you to 90km/h.

Good pics of your car James

Significant Technical Input
Congratualtions James, you have a beautiful car. Will Subaru warranty that obvious defect and put the steering wheel back on the other side of the car?

Very nice car indeed James! I love the color. I have thought about repainting mine a dark metallic gray. Thanks for helping me visualize it on the car .

May she serve you well.

Todd

BTW - Check the trans mount. It may be the cause of your clunking when selecting a gear.

Am I the only one that thought he was going to get a yellow one?

Thanks for the comments and thanks for fixing the link Green1995SVX!

Ok...

With my hunt for a yellow SVX, there are only 2 in Australia and both were, last year and also this year, for sale. One was here in Sydney but the dealership wanted nearly $40,000AU (1995, circa 40,000km) which was too high and the other was a 1995 in Melbourne that was also a 1995 with 72,000km for which he wanted $29,500. On this one, to cut a long story short, I was gazummped (they sold it to someone else).

The colour was one that I have not been able to find on sales literature here in Australia and till now, every other SVX of that colour (there are a few here) were all ex-Subaru of Australia cars that were then sold to the public. Mine was bought brand new by a private person but although we searched, he could not find the colour chart that they picked the colour from. I think it is code 212 but I will check.

The JDM is a personal import from New Zealand and is a 1992 model (for sale incidentally!). It does not have a sunroof and the owner, Kvox (nickname) has promised to take some detail shots of the 4ws mechanism.

Thanks for the tip on the tranny mount - Kvok's car is a lot rougher in the shifts than mine but my reverse engagement is more 'brutal' than his - I will have to see what the story is. Apparently Subaru Australia have never heard of the filter kit for the 1992 SVX but there was one released for the Outback/Forester and Blake has used that on his - I have ordered it so will try and fit that ASAP followed by a cooler.

My apologies about the bad resolution but when I get a friend to take some shots with his digital camera, they will be amazing!!

Thanks all

James

PS: they also don't offer the right to left reversal of steering kit!!

Fair play t'ye, James boy!

That's a lovely car James, wish you well with it.

Hard to see the colour properly, and from your reply, it is not a colour I would have seen before as I suspected. Would you consider it a dark metallic grey, or a metallic black?

Really glad you did not get a ballistic banana. As my Ann puts it, "Who could take you seriously in such a car?"

Did you run the tranny diagnostic yet??

Joe
