Fuel filter replacement
I've seen several suggestions lately about replacing the fuel filter every so often. I've had the car 20,000 miles without doing this and I'm not sure the record before that so I figured I might as well.
Any tips on how to do it, where it is located, what it looks like, etc? I've never worked on cars much before until this board, but since I have changed spark plugs, done the alternator upgrade, and cleaned intake and throttle body. So this is the next step. Also, for the new filter any recommendations? Is it just something you can get off the shelf? Thanks in advance.

Hey Troy
Fuel filter is in the engine compartment. It is a canister with multiple small rubber hoses coming oot of the top. It is located on the drivers side, between the front strut housing (the future home of your new Koni's!) and the radiator overflow bottle. One screw clamp holds the filter in place. Easy to get to easy to replace. Do yourself a favor though and either bleed off the fuel pressure or let the system bleed down over night to avoid a finely atomized flammable fuel spray cologne application .
If you were Beav, you'd probably tempt fate by having a lit stogie in your trap when you removed the hoses, but then again we all know that he's a manly man's man Todd

I find the hoses a pain to get off so I use channel locks as a lever to pry off the hoses. This works real well.

I did the fuel filter about a week ago and word to the wise, clamp the damn hose. I didn't and found out just how bad gas taste. Good luck.
