When I go over bumps I hear a distinct vibration or rattle. I can feel it coming through the steering wheel. Also if I accelerate while I am going around a curve or something it does the vibration thing. I have already had my cv axles replaced, maybe they did an improper install?? I recently replaced my rotors, maybe they did those wrong too?? I thought it might have something to do with the differential or front wheel bearings. I recently also had my transmission replaced. What is my car doing now?? Can someone please give me an idea of what I am facing? Is it suspension maybe? I am really grasping for straws here because the last thing I want to do right now is spend more money on this car. I do love her but man is she expensive!!! My wife is already pressuring me to sell it for a new Eclipse!! HELP!

Steering rack rattle

I just discovered a source of an irritating rattle when driving straight ahead or nearly so and especially when cold. It is the right side bushing in the steering rack. Eventually it will probably get loose enough to have fluid leak past the seals and fill up the boot. You can wiggle the tie rod to confirm it. Now that I know what it is, I won't change it until it does start to leak. Maybe someone will come up with a source of the replacement parts instead of getting a rebuilt rack. I had previously posted a question to the list asking why people had dealers change their racks but got no reply. I think we should still have a few more experiences on the subject posted.
