Anything special about a few of the fuel lines around the tank?
My car has developed a habit of trying to pee on things right in front of it's left rear wheel. With copious amounts of fuel. So, time to drop the tank and replace everything.
Before I go spending money I wanted to clear up something that has me scratching my head. Specifically, item #13 and 16: They're called out as the fuel delivery lines, and those particular sections are the soft/flex hoses. The prices shown here are $18 and $24 respectively. I know they're high pressure lines, but is there something special that justifies these prices? Or keeps me from just running to the local parts store and buying a couple feet of the correct diameter line for $5?

You might want to talk to Nate about the gas leak. I was leaking from the same spot and it was a $30 fix.

$6.49 per foot and FUEL INJECTION HOSE CLAMPS at about $1.00 each! Using regular fuel line can leave you with a burst line, gasoline everywhere, and a really really bad day!

Mine was replaced with high pressure line on my pearlie the guy did mention the flexible tub was not cheap. You can get to the tank connection under the rear seat. You do not needed to drop the tank..

Re: Anything special about a few of the fuel lines around the tank?
Okay, thanks guys. I know I don't need to drop the tank to replace those flex lines, but it's the hard line that failed. I also want to replace the rear brake lines. They were replaced once before and the mechanic did an absolutely disgusting job of it. The routing is awful, they're rubbing on the subframe, and rusting very badly. Between those and the bracket and other parts that look like they came from the Titanic wreckage I would rather drop the whole back end out and refurbish everything.

I pull the rear wheels, exhaust midpipe and drop the rear subframe to get room to work. After I replace the lines and secure them I coat EVERYTHING with spray truck bed liner. Note; The rear subframe drops only as far as the struts will allow. Good luck with the project.
