Re: The sales brochure

Here we go. It's a doublesided pamphlet obviously, but the scanner works in mysterious ways...

It's for RHD and the japanese svx/piazza site lists it as a UK brochure. In other words, this is not a norwegian or general european spec.

Please notify me if you need a higher resolution scan of certain portions (like drawings etc).

In reading this, there's a lot more technical information than mine.
Also, UK cars have vented rotors in the rear?? I want some!

Re: The sales brochure

My car also has vented rears (so I use the EBC set). I seem to "remember" all euro cars do.

Remember, in some markets certain things were done to keep the price down. In some, they weren't competing on price anyway and we got all the goodies in return.

Re: The sales brochure

Excellent sharp clear scans. The pronter is spitting it out now.
Thank you for this.

Since you ask, it would be nice to have a single page scan of the SVX front end photo on the opening pages rather than the double page intro.

Again thank you, terrific paper ephemera, better printed than no brochure at all.

Interesting footnote tid-bit I did not know
"Ecsaine is a registered trademark of Toray Industries, Inc.It is called ALCANTALA in Europe", not ALCANTARA as it is now known.

Very nice, thank you. I can't wait to go into work and run this "sample" document out on the digital press.

Re: The sales brochure

All respect, IcingD but unlike today's educational slack for such errors, even in newspapers, way back in 1991 editors still diligently proofread glossy periodicals of such superior publishing. A typo would not have escaped.

I think we're looking at a global licensing issue for the word as the material became more popular. I'll keep researching this anomaly for a definitive answer.

EBC set?
Also, I'm curious if I can simply replace my solid rear rotors with vented ones with no major modification..

No, you also need UK / EU spec wider calipers.

EBC Brakes of UK sell replacement steel discs, possibly carbon too. I use their rotors (vented all around, different size front/rear) and pads (Greenstuff).

Isn't this a typical asian misunderstanding? L/R?

Yes... a typical english/Japanese translation error... and with the brochure printed in Japan, there you go!

The Alcantara (Ecsaine, Ultrasuede) name was finalized between the Japanese/Italian joint venture to make the material.

Sorry Old Dave... editors and copywriters made mistakes in 1991, they make mistakes now, and they will in the future... they're copywriters!

Re: The sales brochure

Thanks for setting my mind at ease with this plausible explanation of the verbal L for R transference.

Oh well, and here I'd thought I'd discovered something important. LOL
Meantime, this Sales Brochure is a real treasure and prints out beautifully. O'm spitting out another copy for my buddy here in town with the white 92 SVX.
