Re: Parking lot damage

I guess that is a call only u can make. If that is the only problem with the car and you can get it fixed with little or no money out of you pocket, I would do it.
Having that crease at that point, it will not just pop out. I pulled a dent out once with a toilet plunger.

I think it will be, but you never know. Unfortunately I won't be able to have it appraised until Thursday.
I would try to take the car to a shop that works with the insurance companies. Would let them select the one it should go to and the insurance company will take care of the bill. It of course will be guaranteed to be to your satisfaction. Just a suggestion...

Re: Parking lot damage

Scheduled my repair for the day after Christmas, the quote is $1,200 and 10 hours of work. Feels kind of weird to fixing a dent in the quarter panel when there is rust on the rear of that same panel.

Since they have to mix and spray paint on that quater, maybe they can fix the rust for you at the same time for just a little more?
It should be way cheaper than a seporate bill.

+1. They'll have to blend the whole panel anyway. Just toss them a few more bucks to repair it all the way.

They estimate $1000 per side to cut out rust and epoxy in new metal. It is just not worth it when I can get a new rust free SVX just a little bit more.
For now they are going to sand it down and coat it with rust converter then smooth it out. It is pretty much guaranteed that the bubbling will return, but it will be a little cleaner than it was for a while anyhow.

Re: Parking lot damage

It was $1100 he pulled put the dents and touched up a rust spot behind the wheel. Repainted the quarter panel. Pretty straight forward repair.

Re: Parking lot damage

Why not just buy 2 new 1/4 panels and have them painted?
