Maybe we should compile a list of parts that will go out of stock sooner or later and make a plan for each.

Negative=Reality. That's where having a dues paying club comes into play as such reproduction parts aren't cheap to set up or buy the initial batch. They pay the tooling costs and retain the rights... or you can just park it in the garage and look at it as it becomes a footnote of automotive history.

hmm... I will have to think about this some more. As a community, I think we're kind of small and (for the most part) broke. These cars are in a weird niche that means that they're an enthusiast car, but because they've been selling for so cheap, people without a lot of extra money have been picking them up and driving them into the ground. I don't really see anyone around who's perfectly fit to take on that kind of responsibility. But maybe there's a way to divide it up as a club (as you said), so that the financial burden is spread over more people and there are multiple people taking on projects. Like for example, we pool some money, and then I take the job of having the tooling made for ball joints or whatever, then another guy takes up the job of having some windshields made. Prioritizing those more necessary, dwindling parts first.

This is turning into a threadjack, but I will give it some more thought.
