No outside air temp on display

OK - so after sitting for the best part of 3 months, decided to take my baby out for a drive.

When turning on the aircon & adjusting air temp up from min - after a few seconds it decides all by itself to return to min temp?
(cannot hold the temp set by me - even has occasional, random - beeping coming from dashboard with no display showing).

Also the outside temp switch will not switch the display (inside/outside).

Any suggestions.

the climate control unit in my first pearlie did the same thing , unsure why but on the odd occasion at extremely random intervals it would work normal for a minute then continue with its tom foolery and go to min temp

Re: No outside air temp on display

think the issue must be an oxidised switch - after about 10 minutes it tends to sort itself out - now 4 days in a row without any issues (touch wood!!!)

Smile Re: No outside air temp on display

Seems to have sorted it'self out - but heading over to see NUTSHL in a few weeks time, he has an SVX in pieces & I am keen to check the condition & see what parts I might need

Thanks PADDLESNZ for the Japanese web link below on how to fix the pcb in the aircon unit - will post some pictures from both units once I get time.

http://genmei.itline.jp/~svx/diary/?date=20040912

Looks like the properble cause is power supply ripple getting through the C2 (inductor) / C9 (Capacitor) line - will trace both back to source & measure both voltage & ripple from each unit supply.
It maybe that replacing both + replacing supply capacitor - upstream (with a bigger/newer one) elsewhere on the pcb may aid with the issue.
C2/C9 also goes to resistor network (pull-ups) from the VCC of Motorola IC MC1401x (could be a buffer driver chip) - will know full number when I get more into it.
