Another "little" project I've been working on

Two of my friends are doing a 3vz-fe (V6 from a Camry) swap into a 2nd gen MR2 and restoring it along the way. Phase 2 will be to add sequential turbos. It's a really neat project. I'm the "wiring guy" mentioned at the end. Click on for some pretty cool pics. I keep pestering them to swap in one of my EG33s to make a poor man's porsche, but they're not interested  . The MR2 layout is actually really neat, the engine is in the back but it's a generic FWD toyota setup back there. So you can swap in pretty much any toyota engine that physically fits into the space back there, and it's a pretty big space at that. Don't even have to change the mounts for the 3vz.

     The stock engine, 5s-fe:  Air to water intercooler setup, the air-to-water exchanger is going to go in the trunk, hehe:  Engine rebuilt is coming together:   That's about all the worthwhile pics in the thread.

I'd love to have one but I want that generation (in the pics) and finding one of those not beat to scrap or rusted is very hard. Then you have the people that think they are worth their weight in gold.
Cool build though and they are really fun to drive!

I didn't get to drive it before it was torn down, but I'm told that it's a fun little car to drive, even with the non-turbo 4-cyl. Should be an absolute beast when it's done.

I also want to start a new project but this time with a classic car that I have started searching for in the US. I am into the Mercedes W113 SL and I am looking for one which needs total overhaul.
First step is importing it to Lebanon. Second step, sandblasting, bodywork and then the rest comes...

One guy I knew built a V6 MR2. Had plans of turboing it I think?
Helped him spay paint it with cheap cans of sliver paint just to see what it would look like in silver. He lightened it lots. No heater bear minium stuff needed for it to be road legal.It was fun but scary to ride in Also A mate of his was building a stregthed Limo verson of the AW11 MR2. That was to be powered by a supercharged V6. I lost contact with them so I never knew how it went or even if they both finished them? My Wof man told me there was also a guy he knew had a V6 AW11. Sees it when it needs a Wof.

Ok we got the engine back from the machine shop on friday. Still attaching all the stuff to it. Pics when I get some more time. It's super clean though. It's kinda funny, there's an EG33 and the 3vz sitting next to each other on engine stands looking awesome. Actually the EG from my 73k car is almost as clean on the inside as the 3vz.

Well, we got the V6 into the 2. Axles, a little more wiring/miscellaneous bits, fluids, and a battery, and it's ready to try for the first start.
