random ignition problems

What exactly would cause my svx to act like It's only running on three cylinders ? This mainly happens when I'm slowing down from highway speeds, the car will bog down and act like It's only running on three cylinders.

I think the cam sensor is not putting out enough signal at low speed. Its the one on the left side of the engine near the battery. Pull it out and clean the surface of it, see if that fixes it, or buy a new cam sensor.

Re: random ignition problems

if it only happens when you are coming off the highway it could be your torque converter is not releasing from lockup. try driving it in 3rd for a ways before getting off the highway. do you have a flashing trans light when you start the car?
