German axles.
Does anyone know if the front axles for a German SVX with an automatic are different from those in The United States?
Thank you, Tom Krynock

I THOUGHT that they were the same, but after sending one to Holland/The Netherlands, I am being told that it does not fit! I am hoping to see a picture of them, side by side to compare the spline diameters. The installer is convinced that I sent a rear axle by mistake. The SVX is a Geman automatic 1992. More as we figgure this out.

Re: German axles.
It is a bit of a mix match over there. Depends where it was first delivered and where it went from there.
These are the ones that I know. VTD markets; Japan, England, Australia, NZ, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria and Brazil. US type markets; US, Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland. No mention of what type for Israel, Thailand, Norway. Harvey.

Re: German axles.
Hi Guys
Update about the axle The axle itself fits, only the bearingrim on the OT axle has a width of 56 mm and the original axle is 60 mm If the 56 mm is fitted, the bearing will stay open and will be destroyed in a matter of weeks I have made a pic but have to remember how it worked https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink Rinus Last edited by subaru; 02-21-2011 at 03:10 AM. |

Re: German axles.
Why the different dia. bearings? is it because of gearbox variations - or something that Subaru did because of loadings on the splines?

Re: German axles.
Hi
Dont know about the bearings, it is the side of the wheel The other thing is (not on picture) that the joint on the diff-side is thicker (more massive) than the OT one Something else, the transmission gives a code 11, duty solenoid A I cannot find where that is Any suggestions? Thanks Rinus |
