BBS STI wheel owners

It appears that I'll be picking up a set of BBS rims for my car. I was wondering what lug nuts you all used for that setup. I'm pretty sure the stock ones won't work, so if anyone as any suggestions, they would be much appreciated.

Re: BBS STI wheel owners

I have a set of regular chrome lug nuts that I just grabbed from the box at work. The thread is 12 x 1.25, 19mm hex. What you get depends on how much you feel like spending.

Re: BBS STI wheel owners

I use tuner lugs. They are small and non-abtrusive to the wheel. Not to mention they need a key to take off even if it is the same key as all the other tuner lugs out there

Plus the black tuner lugs look better than chrome.

Nah, I found a set of silvers with winter rims on them from a guy on NASIOC. I'll be having them for less than $500. They're a little beat, but they're silver.

Re: BBS STI wheel owners

We have two sets of gold BBS wheels, both using STI stock lugs and OEM supplied McGard lock key.

I've got black McGard spline drives on the Legacy, and chrome ones on the Miata. Easy way to keep them sorted, and the chrome looks better on the miata's wheels, and the black looks fantastic on my hypersilver Rota Torques with black wheel center covers on the Legacy.

But the key works on both, in case one of the key drivers gets lost someday...

They are nicely compact, and have a swivel bearing conical seat, so it spins on itself, instead of spinning on the paint in the lug seat on the wheels. less binding/seizing, and more evenly-applied torque

I would go with the same black ones on BBS wheels with their black centers. For the real money, there are BBS-logo'd McGard spline drive lug nuts, that work the same way, but have the BBS logo on the outer face of the lug. For someone who has $$$ and just has to show that they love brand image.

I'll be happy with lug nuts that keep the wheels on the car. I don't need anything else.

+1

-1 set of said BBS's

Mine came with the stock STi lugs and McGard key.

I'm sure you can run the stock SVX lugs on them though?

If you are gonna go get a set, look for open ended tuner lugs. They are very light and very durable.

Not if you live in the Northern regions. Any salt gets into the open nuts, forget getting them off easily, especially the internal hex type, which are prone to splitting when over stressed.
