Suspension??

Can someone please clarify the options we have on our suspension? I'm confused with shocks, struts, coil overs, springs. What basically do we need to replace our stock suspension? Pictures would be helpful. Thanks!

The OEM struts include the shocks as an integral part. No one makes them except Subaru. You can order them with or without the springs.

Koni makes the shock portion of the strut, but only as an insert which is dropped into the OEM strut after you cut off & remove the OEM shock.

The strut mounts, which bolt to the top of the strut & then to the car also wear out or corrode. To my knowledge this is also only made by Subaru.

The springs can be made by any spring shop if you know what spec to have them made to.

Other than that there is your bushings & trailing arms which are probably worn out if they haven't already been replaced. If replacing your struts & springs you already have everything apart that's required to do the bushings.

Over simplified but there it is in a nut shell.

Thanks for the responses. Is the set up on allwelldrive.net complete? Would I need to buy anything else? Do any modifications? What do I get with this kit?

The kit is ready to bolt on. You get new top mounts, koni inserts, and ground control springs. Plus you can get the housings either sprayed black or have them powdercoated.

That is a great deal. I priced out what Subaru had to offer and after adding it all up, it costs more. I'd rather have Koni than stock. Thanks a lot!

It handles great. It corners relatively flat and makes the car very stable and surefooted around turns
