Red face Need some confirmation before I place an order!

I need to replace all four struts on my '92 and would like some confirmation from the gurus on this board.

Subaruparts.com has two struts listed for the front and rear and I don't understand the difference

Part # Description List Unit Price

Front struts (only showing one side for example)
20311PA001 Pt830593 Strut Cp F $159.95 $121.88
20311PA000 Pt830593 Strut Cp $239.03 $182.14

Rear struts (only showing one side for example)
20360PA001 Pt840593 Strut Cp R $169.95 $129.50
20360PA000 Pt840593 Strut Cp $254.47 $193.90

I'm assuming I'll also need one spacer for each strut since this is the source for the banging and clanging while driving?
20323PA000 Spring Seat Upr $14.80 $11.28

Rubber seats for the lower (rear struts)
20370PA010 Rubber Seat Lwr $14.10 $10.74
Rear wheel bearing
28016PA010 Roller Brg $82.77 $63.07

Are there anything else I should be looking to order while replacing the struts all around? Also, does anyone know if Mychailo is still producing the Sport Strut springs? I sent him an email but go no reply. I'm thinking that I should replace the tired springs while "I'm in there".

If someone else has a better prices than the above listed, please let me know. How about a Promotion/discount code for Subaruparts.com if available?

Liberty Subaru doesn't have an online parts quote feature so I'll have to call them on Monday. Did 1stsubaru.com site go away? I had it bookmarked but it failed to load.

Cheers.

I generally use http://www.subarugenuineparts.com as they have an online catalog.

Yeah, call Liberty and ask them for a clarifiaction.

Just a theory here; most of the struts that were purchased in the past few years failed shortly after they were installed. They were sitting around on shelves for 10+ years and the seals dryed out. I'm wondering if the new part number is for newly manufactured struts??

There is a cheaper way of doing it. We have used some aftermarket struts and with a little work, they are great with the SVX. Much cheaper and they work fine. Look in the How-To Documents.

I checked the How to lockers before posting this. There is no mention of any vendor names in the How To lockers unless I missed it. I saw one article on How to replace the struts. If you can get me the link to what you're referring to, that'd be useful.

As far as "cheaper" aftermarket struts, are you referring to Koni cartridges? Based on my past Koni experience, they might end up firming up my ride more than my liking. I don't know of any other aftermarket struts were available in the U.S., if there are any, please enlighten me.

Thanks.

Hmm, very helpful bit of info.

Fellas, per my original inquiry, should I also replace the top spacer on the front and both spacers on the rear?

Thanks.

The Spring seat which you posted may be rusted out, then yes it would need replaced, but usually if it's banging when you hit a bump in the front, it is due the the top bearing mount being bad...

I do have some sort of noises from the front when going over bumps and washboards so something is amiss in the strut area.

It appears as though the best course of action is to remove all parts and see what's bad then place a huge order. Ordering ahead of time before the start of the project may not be wise.

Mine's doing that and it's the swaybar end links. Get the car up on ramps, climb underneath and shake stuff around.
