Question 245/45 r16 tires on stock rims

Hey, I was wondering if anyone had gone that wide? I really dont want/need tires this wide but I can get a GREAT deal on them new.

Basically just want to know if the rim is wide enough and if I will have any clearance issues?

225/50R16

Section Width: 8.85 in 225 mm

Rim Diameter: 16 in 406.4 mm

Circumference: 78.06 in 1982.7 mm
Circumference: 77.53 in 1969.2 mm

Revs per Mile: 837.0
Revs per Mile: 842.7

Actual Speed: 60 mph 100 km/h
Speedometer1: 60.4 mph 100. km/h

Speedometer Difference: - Speedometer Difference: 0.681% too fast
Diameter Difference: - Diameter Difference: 0.69%

The numbers look close but I havent brought the car home yet (or ever owned an svx before) and the car needs tires.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

That is my preferred size for 16s on an SVX!
No problems.

They might be a little wide for the SVX rim as it's a, well I forgot what its width is. 7" or 7.5"?? I think it's a 7.5" which could work.
245/45/16 has always been my favorite size tire for some reason. If I were you I would go for it. Others may not agree though.

245/45-16 is the tire size that the good Lord intended for this car when he conjured it up at the beginning of time. It will work perfectly.

I have that size on my FD rims, but it will also work fine on the stock rim.

It is a bit harder to find tires this size, but if you already have some located you've already solved that problem.

What tire are you planning on getting, by the way?
