Subaru Factory Wheel Lock Question

The socket to undo the subaru factory wheel locks on my SVX has gone missing.

Anyone else have this happen. It is nowhere to be found. How should I go about removing these? I need to remove them because the car is not drivable until i bleed the brakes.

Find a disposable socket that doesn't quite fit on, then use a BFH to make it fit on.

Remove the wheels to bleed the brakes? Am I missing something here?

If you get the car far enough in the air, you can get under it and bleed the brakes with the wheels on.

I was serious about the socket thing though, 12 points works best, and Craftsmen or something else with a warranty is good, cause then you can get a new one.

...That's a pretty good idea....Hell, you can use any old hardware store nut and plug weld it right on there....

I've seen the socket and hammer done before. Be careful. The time I saw it ended up with a nice big hammer shaped dent in the nice shiney rim.

I have never seen the factory lock lug nuts. What do they look like? I know of after market type, but not Subaru ones.

Think I've seen McGuard wheel locks at Subaru. And I wasn't looking for trouble with the removing wheels & tires query, as Dave so agreeably pointed out.

Ill let everyone know how it goes. Three of the wheels still have the locks on them, and I have a full set of craftsmen sockets.. hopefully enough to get me through this!

Car stops again. A craftsman 3/4 socket was a small price to pay. They came off surprisingly easy. I drove my Claret today for the first time since August 2006!
