SVX meet in Portland

When speaking with Mark (KVRSX) on the phone, it sounds like there will be a "svx" parking area.

I plan on arriving around 9:30 or 10am (ish) so save me a spot ! Mark told me he plans to be there early...like 8am. Looks like the weather is gonna cooperate too!

As far as lunch...I have no idea how that works out...I imagine they will have vendors there...but I really don't know.

Well, its 0415 and I am at work and...IT IS RAINING . Hopefully it will clear up. And to think I almost washed my car last night . I gotta find an umbrella when I get home.

AWESOME EVENT! It rained on us pretty good though. The professional drifters from Team Orange were unbelievable. The 2.5RS Zero to Hero VS. "stock" STi was great. They had a burnout show which was hilarious, especially when some kid in a civic pulled up and got boo'd...then proceeded to do a "pegleg" burnout...and everyone laughed at him.

2.5rs vs STi Challenge...Subiesport built 2.5 won it pretty easily.


The SVX Lineup...


6 Total SVXs (I think). We were parked right up in the front area. We overheard so many comments about our cars (good and bad, lol) but it was great all the attention. I watched several people posing with my car and giving thumbs up and big smiles while getting there pics taken.

Lots of fun...rain was a bit of a bummer, the professional drifters were simply...amazing.

It was a wonderfully wet day, but we all had a great time. I'm always impressed with the loyalty of the Subie crowd, especially as we were all standing in the pouring rain watching all the displays of power and prowess. Kumakubo and Tanaka put on an outstanding drifting event. Travis Pastrama was blown away as a passenger on one of those runs. I don't think it's an easy task to adrenalize a rally driver.
Our tentative plans are for a local drive in late summer. Several routes were discussed, all great and future events. More later, we can continue to plan place and date at the next few meets, i.e; Spring Classic, Maintenence and Subaru west coast.
We hope everyone had as great a time as we did. We really thought the rain would quench our enthusiasm, heck no, we were only wet on the outside, let it be known that we are driven by what's inside, thus our choice of Subarus.
