o2 sensors

Code 37 is still coming on after dual o2 (Walker) and h20 temp sensor replacement. Strange. I might have bad wiring connection; I hope.

Anyone have the CPU trip code 37 after O2 sensor replacement?

i can't remember but aren't the walkers the ones you have to splice on? if so ditch that junk and go get the ones ready to go. i heard the splice on's are garbage. i had the dealership change mine and ended up getting a bad one on the passenger side right out of the box so it could just be bad right out of the box. try switching them around and see if the code changes.the o2 sensors for these cars must just be junk right from the factory.let me know what you find out.

No splicing. Normal connectors. I like the switching idea. I will give it a shot.

Hey team,

Switched the sensors, and code 37 still comes one. Irregular signal from left O2 sensor. Good news is both sensor are good out of the box. Bad news is either the left side connector or wiring is bad, or the left side of my engine is bad.

Darn. I might have mucked up the connector while diggin around in there. Has anyone tried to replace the connector/wiring?

It skipped 1 or more teeth so it's out of alignment and one bank of the engine is running with incorrect timing.

What would that do in the long run?

Any easy diagnostic to detect that?

One sure way to detect it is to take the covers off the front of the engine, rotate it to TDC and see if all the match marks line up on the cams.

Top dead center - basically when the #1 piston is at the top of it's travel. There is a mark on the crank gear and on the motor behind it, when that mark is lined up then you check the same type of mark on the cam pulleys and the motor behind them and they should line up.

Well that explains it. Thanks!
How hard it is to get those covers off?

See my locker for how hard it was for a stealership.
