Thumbs down hood latch doesnt latch

well i was outside today just kinda tinkering around with the SVX, i popped the hood to check out the battery and then closed the hood but, i noticed alittle bit of space between the waterfall grill and the hood. i can close the hood and then open it back up with the little hand latchin the engine bay, but the latch that works with the interior pull handle wont latch. any suggestions would be nice, thanks in advance.

My problem

My svx was like that when I got it, but that was because the bracket the latch mechanism was on was bent in, so it wouldn't line up properly. ended up pulling it out straight, and no problem. seeing as you didnt DO anything to it, I doubt its it, but check to see if its lining up properly.

Try spraying the mechanism with a lubricant like white lithium grease.
