Update

I'm getting close to locking in a location and date.

Still looking at Jan 15th for date and Lynnwood, WA for location.

The trick with the new place is, we can only have a private room if we have a guaranteed 25 or more people.

As I said before, this thread will not be the "official" sign up, but I'd still like to gauge interest before I commit us to something we can not follow through on.

I'm going tomorrow to check out the place in person, and if I like what I see, I'd like to reserve it.... If it looks like we could get the numbers.........

1. ensteele
2. Alycone
3. ManofMayo
4. dnel
5. Sea Sleeper + Guest
6. CDG
7. Tim + Guest
8. Gargoyle + Guest
9. US>CDN SVX - maybe
10. Ganodda
11. MacGyver + Guest

=15 people (possibly) so far...

We're getting really close, I'm trying to think of what other "regulars" we have these days that would be signing in once the official stuff is announced....

I'm pretty sure we could count on Balser for 2 more, hmmmmm who else?

Yeah, but the trick with our group seems to be so many show up once or twice and then disappear. Or have only certain types of events they show up for (or a certain one event <cough> you know who you are).

We've never really broke 13 members at one single event. Worth a try though I think. There's going to be some awards categories, etc that we really can't pull off effectively unless we have some good representation.

It's Official!

I finalized plans with the venue I decided on this last weekend, so here it is:

2004 Northwest SVX Awards Banquet
Saturday, January 22, 2005
The Rock Wood Fired Pizza
Lynnwood, Washington

SVX car show 3:00pm
Dinner 5:00pm - ???

There will be more information on the web site real soon and it will be updated a lot as sponsors are added, etc.

Hopefully most of you got this in an email this morning also, if you didn't, you haven't signed up at Northwest SVX yet! It's easy and free!

Are you on the NWSVX email list Patrick? If you got the direct email yesterday, you are, if you didn't, sign up!

I mentioned it in the email, but forgot to here........ If there is some interest in holding some mini meets and other activities around the banquet, especially for those coming from some distance, let us know and we can start putting it together.

There are also several of us "locals" willing to open our homes to fellow SVXer's Friday and/or Saturday night(s).

Just a few of the ideas we could add to the weekend IF there was enough interest:

Friday Evening
- BBQ or other casual pre-event gathering at a local member's house, a bar, etc

Saturday morning/afternoon before the show at 3:00pm
- A mini-maintenance meet at someone's house
- A scenic drive somewhere around the area
- A detailing meet at someone's house to prep for the car show

Saturday 3:00 - ???? of course the car show and Awards Banquet

Sunday
- Group breakfast or brunch
- A scenic drive to a nice hang-out spot like Snoqualmie Falls, etc
- Any of the above ideas for Saturday morning

The possibilities are endless really, I know of at least a handful of local area SVXers that would probably attend a full weekend of events if there was enough interest from out-of-towners to make them worth doing.

The key here is for everyone to start making their plans and commit to coming so we know what we are working with, and from there we will not disappoint.

So let's keep that sign up list going and asking questions!

Are you refering to the guy in Idaho? He had 7, and his mom had 2 if I remember correctly. I guess we were tied for a while.

Didn't get much response other than one of the members that would have to travel expressing that he would only come if we can get our acts together and get some stuff going. I would like to see some locals step up and put some things together, AND some more "long distancers" chime in that they will commit if we do so. We won't do one without the other and vice versa.
