Offset Wheels Question

Ok...all of you with custom wheels...I know the SVX wheels are like 55mm. How low have any of you gone with great success? Did you go below 50? Please give me some insight. I want to put on 17" wheels.

Thanks

Check to Mods area for a thread I started about "What wheel's do you have?... something like that, it lists the #'s of wheels SVXer's have and their specs, should be helpful

There are also a few recent threads (within the last few days) that answer your question. Most people seem to want to know what will fit within the fenders. Keep in mind that steering geometry is comprimised by running an offset much lower than stock.

I dont know of a aftermarket wheel on the market thats
a +55m offset...not even a +50mm.
Std in the aftermarket industry is +40mm offset
Ive been running between a +35mm to a +45mm
offset for over 3 yrs on all my cars
No problems ever
Even on a lowered car

Significant Technical Input Registered SVX
Friday, (tomorrow) I should get my 225/45/17 Hancook Ventus ZR rated tires in to mount on a forged set of 17X7s with a 45mm offset gun metal Loco wheels I got from Dayle a couple of months ago. I expect no problems, and lose 14 lbs in the process .

more pie please.

Yeah, its hard to find 50 - 55 mm offset wheels, but 45-50 mm is not as hard as it used to be (Rota wheels for example). The really great news for SVX owners wanting wheels is that the '05 WRX STi has the same bolt pattern as the SVX, so there will soon be many more wheels available to us in the 45 - 50 mm offset range.
