I still love my SVX, but.....I've always wanted a WRX.

I swear, if I did own a WRX, I would have hella more speeding tickets on my record.

Just had to write about it, because it was very exciting!

It always pains me to see somebody say this. Still, I understand. So if you love the WRX so much, then why settle for something else? Go get a WRX!

There are only a couple of cars I will settle for instead of a SVX. 7Series BMWs and DB12. So you will never hear me say "still"

WRXes are fun but they look like neons. Might as well go buy a neon. They are cheaper.

dude, don't even go there.

i 'll probably get a lot of crap for this, but the WRX *is* a lot more fun to drive than the SVX. i know that everyone here thinks the SVX is the best car ever made in the history of automobiles, but in reality it isn't. in fact its 3rd on my list of "most fun cars to drive that i've owned." if you think driving the SVX if the greatest, you haven't driven many other good cars.
i love my SVX, but its not really a blast to drive. i'm lucky enough to have the best of both worlds, though - a high speed cruising SVX and the super-accelerating WRX. i'm keeping my SVX for the many things it does well, but driving excitement isn't high on the list.

Hopefully, I'll be getting a WRX next year as a replacement for my XT6, if I can convince my wife. Note that I didn't say I'd be getting rid of my SVX. It has a permanent spot in my garage. I, like Alan, want the best of both worlds.

I'll agree with this, but then the SVX is not really meant to do the sort of things that generally make a car 'fun.'

The SVX handles well enough, but its primary goal is safety and comfort at high speeds. That, I think, it does very well. It may not be the typical definition of 'fun' (as it is applied to the WRX), but it is a fantastic car.

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Well it is only a Cobra......

However, my mother is restoring a 67 Fastback w/ a 390ci and 4 on the floor. It probubly wont be done for like 2 years, but I've already started sucking up. I've accumulated enough points that she let me drive her 2000 corvette the day after she got it home. (I think the mustand is going to take a little more effort than the vette though)

I never said WRX is not fun. It's is a fun car to drive. So was my friend's CRX with a ton of nos

My reasoning behind the whole issue is that WRXes are a dime a dozen. I am the type of person that is different from everyone else on the road. Regardless of what you do to a WRX, it will still be a WRX. I have driven pretty much every single cars that Subaru made in the last couple of year. Although I enjoy the feel of the new car, I am never really truely home till I sit back in my SVX. Any SVX for that matter. It's like coming home for the first time after a long holiday. Although your vaccation was fun, you are not at home till you open the door and enter into your living room. When I sit in a SVX, I feel at home, safe and just happy. I sat in many new cars and many great cars (according to other people and magazines). None of them fits my style or image. The only other car that I can happily say I am at home is my 90 Prelude. It might be because I got used to it. But everything fits. My image, my style, my attitude etc fits to what I drive.

After all, you can easily judge a person from what he/she drives right? I define myself is adventurous and safe and sometimes when needed, will take some risks. I think the same thing can be applied to a SVX. It's great for high speed and safe as hell but you have some risks you have to take.

i don't feel like some small-C celebrity like some of you driving your SVX - they aren't even close to being exotic or different. i really do see as many SVX's as WRX's around here.....and the SVX's have been making appearances for a lot longer. the dime-a-dozen arguement doesn't work in Pittsburgh. this is the SVX capital of the world. i like comfortable, but i like being pinned back in my seat, too.

I am not saying I feel like a celebrity because of the SVX but I am saying that I stand out. Perhaps, not as much in PA or any or the states in the New England, or CO area or WA areas.

In Chicago, the only SVX I see is mine on daily basis and I see WRXes every other day.

Seen many 67 fastbacks lately? Its one of the most valuable and rarest (especially with that engine) regular production mustangs.
