Sydney Car Show

B11S at the Sydney Car Show

Wouldn't mind parking the Bentley Continental GT in my yard, I hear that pre-orders for Aus have already exceeded the 100 mark

Re B11S

G'Day All,
Looked at the link to the B11S pictures and it looks hot until you reach the front end OMG!
Decided something had to be done, so I fired up PhotoShop and took to it.
This was only a quick job so it's a bit rough, but it has to be an improvement?

What do you think?
Arthur.

If the file hasn't attached I'll stick it in my locker.

Cool

Hi Arthur

The nose of that car has been PhotoChopped to death!!

On first release, everyone Stateside had a go redesigning the nose. I have a whole folder of chopped images with new noses, and I must admit yours is better than most.

A common graft was a WRX nose [last model, not the current ugly duckling cross-eyed wunderkind]. Nobody seems to like the nose of the show car because of the centre feature that I christened the Beercan Ringpull.

If you look closely though, you can see that the area of air intake is huge, for engine cooling and intercoolers no doubt. [Your mod closed it down a little ]

I think the car looks and is fabulous, but agree with the rest of the world, the nose gotta go

Joe

B11s nose and tail

My first impression of the nose was 'hmmm Subaru meets Alfa Romeo' and the tail...'for us Aussies' its got a touch of the BA rear end with tail light cluster..whats the go with RX8 doors its seems that must be the next fad..at least finally adding the scissor lambo doors would have made us all drowl..
I wonder if they are planning to release / produce the car and if so I wonder how much...circa RX8 57 - 62K AUD..Hmm
Wish I was still in my job where I could get a new company car with 4 doors upto 55K, it'd be worth tossing in some extra
Oh well drowl on

Good job Arthur - anyone tried to graft an SVX front end onto it??

BTW, how proficient are you with P-Shop? Are you able to change the colour of an SVX??

I still say, keep the SVX body - 6 speed tranny and a twin turbo flat 6 with 300Kw - sell it for $70,000 and I would sell my soul!!

Oh, and fix the sun visors too!

Seems that MG now has an X_SV show car.

Maybe by the time it comes to production they can get the name right.

Hint, hint... the X goes after the SV.

Bumble bee!!!

I'd like to see a SVX in titanium (like on the Diablo's) or the gunmetal/bronze that they used on the previous Liberty/SAABs

Significant Technical Input
I saw one of you guys had a link to another pic with an alcyone rear wing. Does anyone have a really good one? I've never seen a high res picture that really shows how it matches up to the trunk lid.

I think the nose on the B11S is kind of cool, myself. It's supposed to be inspired by Fuji Heavy Industries roots as an aircraft company and look like a jet intake.....with 399.7HP (294Kw) the thing almost does seem jet powered...yay twin turbo flat 6

Good news for us I think. While I might have to buy one of these when they come out, I also think it will have positive effects on real performance mods for the svx. Expect to see the B11S computer spanked by ecutec in which case it should be possible to make a harness adapter and use it to tune a twin turbo svx.
