trans Cooler size????

Hello,

I am in the process of ordering a cooler from Summit Racing and see that there are coolers 3/4" and 1.5" thick as well as diferent overall dimensions.

For those of you who have already installed one, what is the largest cooler that will fit between the rad and the condensor?

Thanks for the help

Hotshoe

I have not done this yet to mine but if I recall correctly, 3/4 inch will just sandwich tightly between the two. There are plenty of threads pertaining to this if you do a search and I know the info is in there. Good luck and let me know how it goes

biggest size

I tell you what I did and you can decide if it might work for you.

I took 2 16,000 GVW and attached them end-to-end. I had to shorten the output from one and the input from another to make them fit, but it wasn't anything too drastic. Except for about 4", it literally covers the whole surface of the radiator.

Maybe this was a bit of overkill, I don't know. But, my car has 112k miles and I"ve never had a problem with the trans yet.
