Smile OK - the cooler's in....

Wow, I didn't think there was that much controversy left in the old cooler and "where do it go?" discussion. It seems we've pitted the Big Bang group against the Creationists, with a little Freud & Newton thrown in. Thanks to everyone who influenced my decision as to which lane on the fork of the road to take. So... I flipped a coin.
I picked the car up after the shop was closed, & drove it home in 90 degree heat for about 12 miles. No lights came on, nothing dripping on the ground. I'll tell you more tomorrow when I figure out exactly what was done. For now, this I know - labor was $85.00. Ron

that is not that bad.

i paid $230 to have my cooler installed, tranny mount installed, and brake fluid flushed (thanks aredub for the tip on the fluid). i bypassed my stock cooler so now i solely rely on the b&m cooler. it is just a tranny right? i had mine mounted in the very front ahead of the radiator and condensor. i would be interested to know the size of your cooler and where they ended up putting it.

What I Did & Why. As mentioned in my other post, the cooler was a B & M rated at 16-19K GVW. It was installed by an independent transmission only repair shop walking distance from where I work.
It was installed between the radiator & condencer, & bypasses the original cooler. The mechanic said the original organic fluid (13K on it) looked very good, so I didn't replace it. Nor did I replace the external filter, mainly because I didn't have it. I got to thinking, a dangerous process, I know; that IF a problem exists, e.g. a headache, and if we take 3 medications at the same time & the headache subsides, we don't really know if one pill did the trick, or if the combination was necessary. I just figured since there was presently no "headache" in the picture, I'd just do the cooler. If all continues well, I'll do the filter. If all still goes well, I'll do the synthetic fluid come time for the routine change. I'll probably do the filter sooner rather than later. I do thank all for the myriad of opinions. Now let's go & discuss "tastes great, less filling" Ron.
