Any freon that was in the system is GONE and replaced with AIR.

Air has moisture and depending on the humidity level at the time, a little or a lot.

I know everybody jumps on a post like this to say they didn't evacuate the system and it worked ok, so it's not necessary.

Well, i know a few people who smoked all their lives and never got cancer, so i guess smoking is not harmful to your health after all!
Excellent and timely information.

It is important that when posts within the technical section, are recorded for no other purpose than as an exhibit to please the author, they are vetted and corrected.

Re: How important is A/C Evacuation?

If you really know what you are doing, simply purging the system could be a good idea, but rarely would be needed. If you don't know what you are doing, evacuation probably would never work for you either.

I have spent 60 years of my life studying and successfully repairing refrigeration systems of all types. For air-conditioning, the auto is by far the simplest to do... yes, by far.

The key is knowing what you are doing... everything is a little different. Logic with training is key in diagnoses and repair. Logic is a gift... for the people that don't have it, sorry.

For years people have said that they don't make things like they used to... They don't even make people like they used to. The days of the craftsman are over.
