Rough running cold
96 LSI
274,000mi My car is running rough when the engine is cold. As soon as it warms up it's fine. Actually, rough doesn't cover it. I do have a CEL... #1 knock sensor. No other codes. HALP!!

Re: Rough running cold
So, no thoughts on this?
Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?Anyone C'mon y'all, this thing is buckin' & fartin' like an old carb'd Ford! As soon as the temp guage hits "normal" it smooths out & purrs like a kitten. I have a code scanner & have read the codes....It just doesn't make good sense that a knock sensor (that's been bad awhile) would cause this.

Re: Rough running cold
I think everyone will tell you to replace your knock sensors first then reset and recheck your codes. With a bad knock sensor your engine could be running in a degraded mode or just not as efficient. They are I think about $114 from subaruparts.com but I don't remember if that was because I bought both. FYI they are below your intake manifold bolted on top of the engine. I don't remember how hard it would be to get to since I did them when everything was already off. Good luck.
