Exhaust suggestions
Ok guys. Looking for some help here. Apparently my exhaust needs some work. Garage tells me I need the main pipe that includes the reonator. i replaced the small cats a year or so ago.
Garage said the main pipe I guess with resonator from Subaru is about $500CDN. It's a 1994 so it has the original mufflers which may not need replacement right now but I don't know how much longer I am going to get out of them. What do you guys recommend. 1) Paying the $500 and going with a patch job. 2) $1500 for a Stebro cat back system..... 3) some other cheaper option? thanks

Just cut out the bad parts of exhaust and just replace with straight pipes in that section and put a universal resonater in. If you have access to a lift at all, its relatively easy otherwise just have a shop do it. But you don't need the OEM parts from Subaru.
Someone will post a link to what many have used I'm sure. And I wouldn't worry about the muffler, the one used in the SVX is kinda overkill and they don't seem to be a problem.

Yea thanks Nate. I used a custom exhaust place to put in the two smaller CATS last year. I should probably take it there for some quotes. They said they could put a SS cat back system in for $700-$800 (without looking at it) so they could probably patch it with straight pipe for a whole lot less.
But that Stebro system sure looks nice. lol

The Aero AR25 is a great resonator. It runs about $60.00. AR25 resonator Here is a photo of it installed in my 96 Polo  Verocious Motorsports also has a Magnaflow resonator 14416 It is a 4" round diameter, 14" long, (20" overall) for $67.00 or less http://www.performancepeddler.com/de...D=MAG14416#img .

Ok looks nice. What's the sound like and what's the make. I'm heading down to a custom shop tomorrow to get some prices and would not mind a couple of names that people here have tried....

I have a good main pipe if you want to buy it. I'd assume shipping would be like $100. How's $25 + actual shipping sound?

Since the front of the cat is not the optimum place to get a good reading, I just plugged up that bung and welded one onto the exhaust pipe at the rear of the cat (as the original design) It gets a cleaner reading on emissions this way) Also installing it into the pipe makes it a lot easier to change. The original position was on the top of the cat, making it much harder to remove. ,
