Left Rear Exterior Trim without Antenna Hole?
Since my antenna broke in half, I decided to remove the entire assembly last night so now I'm left with a large hole in the left rear exterior trim piece.
Anybody know if there is a way to get that trim piece without that hole in it? The only thing I could think of is that the new pieces might not have it since the hole might have been drilled as opposed to molded.

Re: Left Rear Exterior Trim without Antenna Hole?
not from Subaru....you're stuck with using some fiberglass and a little bondo...

Re: Left Rear Exterior Trim without Antenna Hole?
I might shave my antenna in, I haven't had the antenna motor in for months and the aerial just hangs in there.
P.S. Hey Taylor, we live pretty close I'm right in Palmdale.

Re: Left Rear Exterior Trim without Antenna Hole?
Call me weird, but I like the look of the car without it plus I'm going to install XM and use the defroster antenna if ever I need FM.
I'm thinking of gluing some lexan under the trim piece and then bondo to make it flush. I thought of cutting the antenna fairing to fit, but it is pretty loose in there as it is so I'm not sure I would get any advantage doing it that way as opposed to using lexan. I was just hoping there was a way of getting it without the hole in the first place... @Nate - yeah we do live pretty close, that'll be good for part sourcing and help for the 2 person jobs. Have you seen any SVX's in junkyards around here?

Re: Left Rear Exterior Trim without Antenna Hole?
I'm probably going to use a bit of fiberglass cloth on the bottom and then a little bondo on the topside.
*Subaru's are pretty hard to come by in any junkyard out here. Ecology is the biggest yard out here, and it's mostly domestics. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for any suby with a 5 speed right now, cause my auto is done for.

Re: Left Rear Exterior Trim without Antenna Hole?
SVX with drivers side on the right might use the trim one with the hole for the antenna on the right instead of the left.
not sure but if so the plastic trim on the left would then not have a hole on it! Just a thought... Keith |

Re: Left Rear Exterior Trim without Antenna Hole?
Well here in little old New Zealand we have the drivers seat on the RHS (LHS if you face the car) - and the antenna is on the same side as you guys in the big old US of A....
