rebuilt steering hose

Does anyone have a photo of a rebuilt high pressure steering hose? Whenever I call shops about rebuilding the hose, they say it can't be done using the same fittings. Even after I explain the method, they still don't understand. maybe a photo would help.

Might call around and ask if some place can make one and supply all the parts. I could understand why they might need to see the old one, but to use old parts.

Never had it done so I am in the dark and have to resort to logic... Story of my life.
Don't know if this helps but no one else bit on it.

Re: rebuilt steering hose

I called and visited over a dozen hose, fitting shops. No one will rebuild the hose. I'm buying a new one.

Re: rebuilt steering hose

I have seen Impreza's where people that have had new power steering lines made out of braided SS.
I would think some type of place that make SS hose for race cars or something could make some thing that would work in place of the stock parts.

Re: rebuilt steering hose

I bought it through subaruparts.com I paid $87 plus shipping.
Local Subaru dealers want $115 plus tax and shipping.
Part number: 34610PA120
I hope this will help others.
