Re: front diff?

possible! When it moves, does it shift through all gears okay?

When does the sound come from?
Pull the front diff dipstick and check the fluid condition, you can
tell from there!

Or drain the front diff and see how many chunks come out.

Re: front diff?

If you keep driving it you won't have to even do that, the chunks will shoot out onto the ground Mine started with a little clicking sound that hapened from just turning the wheel (cv axle?) then started when driving straight (hmmm)...that moved to clunking sounds (eek!), and then I ended up in a parking lot with pieces on the ground.

I had just brought it in to Subaru to have all the fluid checked out because I'd just purchased the car...lol never again. That's when I started learning how to check things out myself.

One new transmission later, and everything is great
