just to be clear, the only thing you've done to the car since it was running fine is add the methanol kit? If "yes", I'd definitely look at the size of the jet you're running (i.e., go to a much smaller one - consider what Adam was saying about the atomization of the spray) -Bill

I really can't remember where the speedo wires run, but there are a bunch of them behind your tanks mounting location...
that is where I ran my large gauge wire and was real cautious to avoid them when I took the hole saw in there. ...wow my spelling is getting worse every week S-M-R-T!

The meth kit is out of the car now.....
The issue that I ran into was even the smallest jet was still too much. The kit was designed for Cobra applications, but I had hoped that the most conservative jet would be okay for the EG33. No, luck though. I ran RIDICULOUSLY rich. So it is out with a zex dry shot kit going in instead. I believe that methanol would be a great addition to my set up but something a lot more controllable and more finely tunable.

Just a suggestion.....but you might try a slightly different approach. Instead of a system that comes on when you transition to positive pressure, perhaps a system that only comes on when you're at peak pressure. An adjustable Hobbs switch works well for this.
Replacing the welding nozzles with water misters is a good idea. A much smaller mist nizzle will work better with an electric pump driving the fluid. Also consider a 50/50 mix of denatured alcohol/distilled water. So uh, basically, a whole different system |
