Mechanic disabled my alarm.

I had a fuel issue with my '96 SVX Lsi, and when I got it back from being fixed the mechanic disabled the car's alarm and keyless entry. Any ideas on where to start looking to fix the problem? The security button doesn't do anything right now.

I'd take it strait back to the mechanic and say "fix what you broke", but other than that, try the fuse box.

Good call, but trying a few things would be a lot less hassle. The place is kinda far away.

Are you familiar with the process to reprogram the remote? I guess it is possible that when it got disconnected, the security system lost its memory. If you haven't already tried this... I would start there. Its quick and, even better, free!

If you do not know how to do this, check out this How-To:http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/How-To/27326.pdf

aside from reprogramming the remote, and changing the batteries, don't try to fix it yourself,
if that doesn't work take it back and make him fix it or he isn't liable.

The file is here now. http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/How-To/19766.doc One thing though it contradicts it's self. the first part it says hit the botton 2 times each for 2 remotes then it says 1 then 3 for the first and second. Does it matter which? Guess it's not a problem least you only have 5 minutes to do it and HAVE to leave.
