I'm getting another car!...I think

I'm looking at a 96' Nissan 240sx with 81k on it. From what I've heard these cars are pretty much bullet proof, and I've been thinking about getting a new car for a while. The price is right, and going this root I'll be able to keep the SVX as well. Of course the SVX will be a lot more fun in the snow, so the 240 will probably be parked in the driveway for a while.

Nice. Those newer 240SX's look pretty sharp and are pretty fun for a compact rwd coupe. Good luck!

Good choice. I have a '93 240SX fastback that I bought to autocross almost two years ago. Its become the daily beater along the way, while the SVX snoozes in the garage on weekdays. The "blue beast" has 248K on the original engine, 5 speed tranny, clutch, & suspension. However, don't attempt any foolish playing in the snow, without 200 lbs of scrap iron in the trunk.

Have fun.

Ron.

Looks like the 240 isn't going to happen. The seller said it was an SE model, but upon reviewing the pics it's definately a base. The base has 4-lug steel wheels, but the SE has 5-lug alloys.

Oh well, I'll keep my eyes open for another...

Mine's a "base" model. Crank windows, cloth seats & one less lugnut to lose. Nonetheless, its the best $100 I ever spent.

Ron.

For $100 I'd be all over it, for $4000 I'll hold off a little bit...

The last gen 240SX look real nice, especially if you do a Silvia conversion. Like always, Japan got the better looking version then we got.

Silvia conversion is out of the question, it costs about $3000. I'm really just looking for something I can play around with. I've decided that if I go with a 91-93, that'll give me some more money I can throw into it. Plus I've always been partial to the fastbacks with the sleepy eyes.

Its all "what we have" versus "what we don't have"...

Heck there are skyline owners putting G35 and infiniti badges on their cars, where you see likewise acura owners putting honda badges on their cars... It is all in the name of being "different".

I really don't get why a skyline owner would put infiniti badges on their car. The honda acura thing i can understand....its all about jDm y0!!

to them Its "all about USdM Yo!1!" seriously, we want clear corner lights, they want amber tinted ones. We want all red tail lights, they way the ones with the orange corners...

for 99% of the people that modify their cars, its just about being different. Having parts and a look that no one else has. So they buy USDM parts, we buy JDM parts.

Oh and by the way, Skylines are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overhyped. They're common over there, and are really not anything special. Even the GS-Rs aren't "special". I honestly think the Supra outclasses the skyline in most categories. Its just that we dont' have it, so we want it.
