Thanks, this is some helpful information.
After I order and install the shift kit, I will try to play with the adjustments. Looks like Matt has the ideal setting for his car with one to two turns backed off from tight.

I would try the preset setting as it comes from smallcar first, to use as a point of reference. Then if you are not happy, make adjustments from there. I believe most of the people here with the kit use the preset.

I am having the same problem as thundering02 with the power light blinking after start up . Does anyone know what is causing this? I used Chike's write up (which rocked) and installation couldn't have been any easier. One thing I noticed was his connections point down, but mine point up, mounting it exactly as he did (?). I tried switching around the connections but still got the blinking light.

Hmm.....what a pain.

Thanks
PS- this is my first post, so hello everybody!

No clue as to what's causing the blinking light other than double-checking that the connection points between the connectors, wires & prongs are properly touching. If not crimped properly, a connector could easily slide off of a prong on the shift kit, or a wire could slip out of the base of the connector. If this happens, then it'll make the circuit incomplete and the TCU/ECU will think you disconnected the resistor.

-Chike

P.S. If your problem still persists, contact small car. You may haver gotten a shift kit which was damaged in some way????

Chike,
I don't think Small Car is shipping them with the right resistor. My Power light has blinked since I installed the kit in my car (right before the Mason-Dixon meet). Used Tom's Select Monitor to confirm that nothing is wrong with the trans (after doing the self diagnostic routine).
